2009 Paint Color Trends

2009 trends in paint color, whether it may be interior or exterior, are showing a hint of "green".  Consumers are showing their earth-friendly sides by wanting and buying more products that are healthy for the environment.  We are starting to see the "green" side to everything.

In 2009, the consumers are beginning to be aware of environmentally friendly products. In the paint industry, this is true as well. Consumers are looking for paints and paint colors that are safe for the environment and that can make their homes feel soothing and relaxed for them, as well as all who visit, while being conscience towards the effects of paint on the environment.

Green is the trend that smoothes your soul!

Trendy interior paint colors are leaning towards colors that make the homeowner feel happy, relaxed, and soothed and the alike.  We see hues from yellow to pink, as well as many earth tones such as greens, tans, and even black.  Really, it′s just a preference in what you, as the homeowner, likes and what color makes you feel relaxed.  Environmentally friendly paint is definitely preferred on the interior, as well.

Trendy exterior paint colors are definitely "green" in 2009.  Instead of painting the entire exterior, you can color match what you do have and just "touch up" where it is needed.  As for entirely repainting, consumers want earth-friendly products that are safe for the environment.  Earth tones are hot this year.  In some areas of the U.S., homeowners are matching the interior with the exterior of their homes.  This doesn′t necessarily mean that because they have a bright yellow inside, that their homes are bright yellow; however, a muted, pale yellow looks wonderful on the exterior of the home.

Whether it is an interior paint color or an exterior paint color, one thing is certain; it needs to be "green".  Environmentally friendly paint is a must for 2009; however, it must also come in soothing, happy and relaxed hues for the interior and in muted, blended hues for the exterior.  Even though some consumers may want to "stand out", they still want to "blend in".  Just because all the houses may be white in the neighborhood, doesn′t mean that everyone wants a white house.  Consumers want their homes to be a reflection of themselves and as we all know, we are all different; just like our homes.
